The main element of the project was the creation of new build accommodation to house a complete processing line for the production of new sweet pastry products including ‘yum-yums’ along with similar indulgent variations. The challenge given to IFPC was to take an existing production site through a complex series of extensive remodelling and reorganisation phases in order to create a new extension for product packaging and a high care environment to house the new state of the art production line.
The new supply contract which Haydens was committed to meant that the facilities had to be completed by the beginning of July 2017, so that the new equipment line could be installed, commissioned and producing ‘ready for sale product’ for supermarket supply by September. Given that work on site didn’t commence on the ‘live’ production site until February 2017, IFPC skilfully negotiated the usual statutory approval procedures, with a design programme which delivered information for construction to progress at an extremely fast pace; a delivery pace made possible by the collaborative engagement of the whole of Hayden’s Bakery team on site, coupled with our management contracting approach.
This was an extremely demanding programme which IFPC were delighted to design and deliver.
IFPC budget: £6 million
Programme: February – October 2017 which included works to remodel and refurbish staff amenity and office facilities.
